The Eyes of Ireland takes the reader by the hand and delivers them to the doors of some of the best craft artists in Ireland. Dani O'Riley, a professional photographer based in Vancouver, visited over 500 craft studios in Ireland in her quest to identify the top 100 artists whose studios were open to the public. These artists work in metal, ceramics, wood, glass, leather and textiles and are located in every corner of the island. The result is a wonderful guidebook that will enthral anyone interested in fine crafts.

The work of each artist is presented in stunning colour photographs, and there is also a description of the process involved so that the reader will be able to feel the heat from the molten glass or imagine a piece of wood or clay being transformed into a beautiful object. The artists profiled range from the very well known, like Stephen Pearce, Nicholas Mosse or Jerpoint Glass, to relatively obscure artists who are just starting to make a name for themselves. In all cases, visitors are welcome to come to their studios to watch them practise their craft.

The book outlines impressions and experiences of the studios visited, provides directions, contact numbers and other useful information and offers an affectionate portrait of craft artists at work.

With over 200 full colour photographs.
